Scumbled deed box

A late 19th century English pine deed box in original scumble. G.S.M & Co 1895 clearly painted on the front surface. The front of the box is hinged revealing an interior shelf when opened. Most probably used for deeds, accounts or legal paperwork. A perfect addition to the study!
