Gothic style wall mirror

A 19th century gilded wall mirror. The Gothic style originated in France many centuries ago and this pretty French mirror has the iconic ecclesiastical pointed top, reminiscent of a Gothic arch. Although smaller in scale a particularly powerful little mirror. The wide frame bears virtually all the original water gilding showing deep bright lustre with just a few historical rub marks. The inner frame boasts a complete run of plump gesso beads framing the original glass mirror plate with minor foxing. Gothic style wall mirror France 1880.

An English oak dresser base craftsman made in the late 18th century. This quintessentially English oak dresser base boasts the most beautiful rich colour and patina that can only be achieved over a period of time, gathering historical character along the way. The top consists of two wide seasoned oak timbers with mahogany cross band detail. Below are a run of three deep drawers with the same cross banding, each drawer retaining its original antique brass swans neck handles. A beautiful piece of English furniture history circa 1780.

The simple lines to this handsome piece make it perfectly suitable to blend with the period or contemporary style. The three deep drawers still boast their original heavy quality drop handles. The solid cherrywood timbers to the server top have slightly rounded corners and have seasoned to the most beautiful golden colour over the past century gathering a richly polished surface along the way. A 19th century wrought iron strapwork garden bench. This fabulous bench is offered in superb structural condition with no breaks, fractures or weaknesses. Hand forged and designed with three concave back sections for extra comfort. The old green painted surface is sound and dense with just a little historical wear in places only enhancing its country charm. The top back iron strap boasts the original maker’s plaque ‘made by Faulkners Ltd. Colnbrook Bucks’ still intact, dating this super garden bench to England circa 1870-1890.

A 19th century French cherrywood dining table standing on four square tapering legs. The top to this super table consists of four wide cherrywood timbers which have been closed tightly together to ensure no irritating gaps ensuring a neat flat surface. The solid cherrywood legs are slightly tapering giving the table a light elegant appearance. A small cutlery drawer is housed within one side with a useful pull out bread slide extension to one end. French cherrywood dining table circa 1860. knee height 24 inches, extension leaf gives an extra 60 cm.

Chosen from one of many this particular 19th century French grape carrying hod has the most desirable original green painted surface. The ionic hand painted lettering “châteauneuf-du-pape”is a later addition. Time weathered condition with no dents or splits.
