The sweetest little French powder room mirror. Sometimes referred to as powder room mirrors. These small mirrors were often used in “powder” rooms where one could re powder his or her wig or where ladies could retire to refresh their face powder when necessary. Perfect these days for modern day use in the loo or bathroom! Original cream gesso painted borders sit neatly either side of a central raised moulding with the original bright gilded surface. A continuous row of small gesso beads frame the original mirror plate. Original backboard. Some minor foxing to the glass. France circa 1840.
